Following The Footsteps of Jesus
Jesus came “to proclaim liberty to the captives… to heal the brokenhearted… and to set at liberty those who are oppressed” (Luke 4:18–19; Isaiah 61:1–2). At VMTC, we carry that same mission—to bring the good news of freedom, healing, and restoration to every person who is bound, hurting, or searching for hope. Through Spirit-led prayer, personal ministry, and ongoing discipleship, we help people encounter the One who opens prisons, heals wounds, and sets captives free.
Luke 4:18–19
In Luke 4:18–19, Jesus announces His mission with unmistakable clarity: to heal the brokenhearted, proclaim liberty to the captives, and set the oppressed free. This is the heartbeat of the gospel—freedom through the anointing of the Holy Spirit. At VMTC, we join in that mission by creating a safe, Spirit-led place where people can encounter the healing presence of Jesus. Through prayer, forgiveness, and the power of God’s truth, individuals find release from spiritual bondage, emotional wounds, and the lies that have held them back. What Jesus proclaimed, He continues to fulfill today.
Isaiah 61:1–2
Isaiah 61:1–2 paints a prophetic picture of the Messiah’s ministry—binding up the brokenhearted, opening prison doors, and bringing freedom to those who are bound. This promise reveals God’s heart for restoration: He does not leave people in their pain, shame, or captivity. VMTC aligns with this mission by helping individuals walk out of darkness and into the light of God’s truth. Through compassionate ministry and prayer, people experience release from past wounds, comfort in mourning, and renewal in places once marked by devastation. Isaiah’s prophecy continues to unfold as lives are restored and captives are set free through Christ.
